Since last summer, when the neon eyeshadow palette was everywhere ( Think it was huda), i was looking for popping eyeshadow colours at the drug store. I know my folks are a Lil bit afraid of everything that's showier so i knew i gotta wait till we have some real popping and colourful eyeshadow at the drugstores. Even more, grew my intention to create looks and give more examples of how to style that kind of colours.
I finally found what i was looking for the NYX ultimate edit palette. I paid about 6-7€ it's cheap and petite contains 6 different colours: orange, coral, pink, violet, blue and green. To be honest, these colours are not that easy to use because of its consistency but i mean for the price that's what you have to calculate in. In my opinion, it's a very good eyeshadow palette for starting using those colourful and showy colours. I mean it's not pricy and you have the main colours in it to start and find out what suits you the most. What else do you need when you just want to find out? Nothing, i really think its a good beginner colourful eyeshadow palette.
For the first look, the pink one, i decided to wear no thick eyeliner or thick lashes. I kept everything in my make up minimalistic and nude besides my eyeshadow. For the hairstyle, i go for braids I like to wear braids. It's a very practically hairstyle (no annoying hair in your face) once you have done your braids and keep them overnight you will have cute waves the next day, so 2 hairstyles in 1 WOW!
My clothing look was a big fun part for me, now i play with colours as myself as the canvas. So i wanted to combine pink and grey. When grey is quantitative more present in your look it balances well with pink makeup! You can also try yellow, orange but don't miss out your own hair colour and stuff everything has to suit the colour you choose. For the shoes, i used old upcycled Nike huarache in "white".
The orange eyeshadow was a bit difficult to make pop because it's actually more a dark yellow and i mixed the coral and the "orange" even because if have used an orange base it didn't come out as poppy as planned to be honest after a few minutes wearing the orange eyeshadow i started to really really like it because its soft and natural outcome with a Lil mix of showy :) Because of the softness i chose to combine it with a neon orange hat (Adidas neo) over my braids and added a little bit clear gloss to my lips. For the outfit, i go for all black. That's an easy contrast but it's very common not just in outfits i mean in general that's why our eyes will find this kind of combination easily beautiful. I just took an old oversized out washed sweater plus black jazz pants (H&M) and black slip-ons (Jeffrey Campbell) with platform soles.
Blue was another challenge because it's way darker. So i only put the blue eyeshadow on my upper lid plus eyeliner and fake lashes. The colour itself is very heavy so i wanted to balance it a little bit. The rest of my makeup is again minimal. Even for blush, i used a very natural tone. Because this eye makeup is very eyecatching i wanted to play a Lil bit with a contrasting outfit and a sporty and sleek hairstyle.
Purple, as you know, is one of my favourite colours so this look came out personal. Like with the blue the purple/ Violet eyeshadow is very heavy but this time i put one an even thicker eyeliner plus fake lashes. Because this was very strong and feminine makeup i kept my hair simple and sleek. For my outfit, i wanted to underline the feminism but also wanted to give this look a masculine influence. So i took an Aline skirt with a black oversized button-up shirt and Harajuku platforms heels with white socks (for the Kawaiiness)
I hope i could inspire you to go for more colourful eyeshadow in our everyday lives. I mean my ladies you are more than allowed to take time for yourself and try these colourful eyeshadows just to see if you feel good with them. It's not just okay to put yourself on the throne its a must! And if you like it i hope i will see you rocking these eyeshadow colours.
