DAILY DOSE | An additional 99 people have tested positive for coronavirus on a cruise ship off the Japan coast, Japanese media said Monday, citing new figures from the health ministry.

That would take the total number of positive cases on the Diamond Princess to 454. The health ministry declined to confirm the reports immediately.

On land, cases in Japan have risen to 65, with authorities warning that the outbreak is entering a "new phase" and advising people to avoid large gatherings.
Previously, Israel's Health Ministry confirmed Sunday evening that another Israeli contracted coronavirus on board the quarantined Diamond Princess, bringing the total to three.
The ship is currently anchored in Yokohama, near Tokyo, as the clocks are ticking on the 14-day quarantine period.

Monday saw the first plane evacuating US citizens from the vessel land in California, with the passengers set for two weeks of quarantine at a military base.
These included 14 people who had been diagnosed with coronavirus, but still allowed to board the planes.
The US is not the only country looking to evacuate the citizens among some 3,700 people stranded on the ship; Canada, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Italy are looking to set up an extraction as well.
