在北京南城，生活着一对年迈的父子。韩大爷照顾着已经六十岁的智障儿子，两个女儿觊觎着他的房产，霸占着他的退休费。韩大爷只好把房子的其中一间租给了一个打工的男青年，贴补家用。韩大爷最担心的就是将来自己死后，儿子的归宿。一天，韩大爷的女婿故意将智障儿子丢弃在野外，制造意外走失的骗局，他对两个女儿彻底感到绝望。 租客男青年与韩大爷相处的这段时间里，让他感受到久违了的家的温暖。不久，男青年为了爱情，帮助女友还债，再次走入了歧途。
一个好心人把走失的儿子送了回来。韩大爷为儿子做了最后一顿晚饭，他双手紧紧握着倒满农药的两个酒杯，痛苦与不舍定格在苍老而憔悴的面容上。亲情，爱情，在现实中经历着人性的考验。
A senile father lives with his aged son on the south side of Beijing. The ninety-year-old Mr. Han takes care of his sixty-year-old mentally disabled son, while his two daughters covet his apartment and seize his pension. Mr. Han’s greatest concern is what will happen to his son after his death. On one occasion, Han’s son-in-law deserts the mentally disabled man in a faraway suburb, and claims he is missing. Han is completely frustrated with his daughters.
Mr. Han has to rent one of his rooms to a migrant worker, Xiaole, to help out the family expenses. He builds a familial affection with the young tenant. However, Xiaole has a shady past and again goes astray in order to repay his girlfriend’s debt. After a young man brings his lost son back home, Mr. Han makes his son a last supper. He holds two glasses full of poison, with pain and sadness frozen on his haggard face…
