Mr Kenny said on Monday, “despite the heavens opening, the fires being doused and high hopes that this might be a drought-breaking turn in the weather, climate is the hot-button issue in Canberra”.
“The Greens wanted a climate emergency declared last month because of drought and fires,” Mr Kenny said.
Now, “they got up in parliament demanding a climate emergency because of rains and floods”.
Mr Kenny also said it was “hard to believe” those on the left of politics are again pushing for renewables in the face of other "reliable" options.
