Eskom is warning of an increased possibility of load shedding on Wednesday, despite managing to keep the lights on since Sunday. The power utility says it has lost additional generating units due to unplanned breakdowns. Meanwhile, Eskom CEO Andre de Ruyter has appealed to the nation for patience, as the utility sorts out its problems. De Ruyter and other Eskom officials appeared before Parliament's Standing Committee on Public Accounts on Tuesday. But it was the Eskom board that MPs expected to come face to face with. The no-show by the board was seen as a snub and a sign of contempt to Parliament.
