Australia to launch wide-ranging probe into deadly bushfires

Australia to launch wide-ranging probe into deadly bushfires Australia is looking to launch a wide-ranging probe into the causes of its bushfire crisis. Prime Minister Scott Morrison has signed off on a six-month royal commission, as criticisms continue to mount against his government's sluggish response and lack of green policies. Mr Morrison said the investigation will acknowledge the role of climate change in the bushfires, but it would not be the key focus. Instead, the commission is expected to explore how to mitigate hazards and respond to future natural disasters. It is due to report its findings by end August.
