1. You rarely talk. If you find yourself not communicating enough with your partner and do tend to skip out on important conversations, it is likely that you are not in the best shape mentally, especially because of the relationship that you are in.

2. Depression has kicked in. if you are in a healthy relationship, it is likely that you wouldn’t showcase depressive symptoms for the most part but if you are stuck in a toxic relationship, it is likely that you need to focus on seeking help for the same.

3. Affected self esteem. Your self esteem and how you handle the same is all dependent on you but if your partner has been consistently downsizing your feelings and making you feel inferior in situations, it is necessary that you see this as a sign.

4. Constant signs of stress. Stress is one of the key markers that your relationship could be taking a toll on your mental health. If your partner’s existence and behaviour is contributing to your stress, it is time to take a step back from the relationship, for your own sanity.

5. Constant secrets. Keeping secrets in a relationship never ends up well for anyone. It is not just about the secrets but the impacts it has on one’s mental health that is catastrophic and needs immediate attention. You will feel suspicious of the smallest of things as well.

6. Doubting your self-worth. Your self worth is something that you work on and if your partner is someone who is making you question the smallest of things in terms of your capability, it is important that you do focus on finding your relationship and judge whether it is good for your mental health or not.

7. Constant excuses. Excuses never end well but when you are trying to justify the wrongs that your partner is indulging in, it is important that you do find alternatives to the same and realize that your partner is starting to take a toll on your mental health.

8. Constant gaslighting. You know that something happened but if your partner is making you believe that it didn’t, it is important that you realize that they are gaslighting you. It is important that you realize this before it ends up taking a turn for the worse.

9. Impacts your physical health. Apart from the mental health, one experiences the imposed impacts of the manipulation in a relationship on their physical health as well, especially on that of the cardiovascular health.

10. Wash of relief in their absence. If you feel better and more comfortable when you are not surrounded by the presence of your partner, it is likely that your relationship is not the same as you wanted it to be.

11. Affected signs of social anxiety. Constant reclusive behaviour and enhanced risks of social anxiety is something that does end up affecting your mental health in the long run, affecting your well being as well.

12. You take your feelings for granted. If you find yourself taking your feelings for granted and not taking them with the same kind of seriousness anymore, it is likely that your relationship could be taking a toll on your mental health.
